The Ministry of Education, of the Royal Government of Bhutan, at the apex of the education system reigns supreme and provides the overall supervision to all the educational institutes and organizations with its polices and practices closely monitored by the department of education at the centre and by the Thomdrey Education Office, TCC at the Municipal Level, which is the immediate point of contact for the school on finance and administration. As a separate body with members composed mostly of the parents; the School Management Committee also works as an advisory and governing body, helping the school to execute the government polices on education. At the school level, the principal is the chief administrator assisted by the deputy principals and other teaching and ancillary staff. In line with this, the senior management team at Yangchenphug consists of a principal and Deputy Principals. For efficiency, transparency and accountability, the share of responsibilities of the senior management team are given below

Principal: The Principal is responsible for the overall supervision and management of the school. In addition he/she is also responsible for the following: -General administration and finance. -Infrastructure development. -Planning, monitoring and ensuring the smooth implementation of policies and school programmes. -General discipline, provide support to the deputy principals and evaluation of teacher performance. -Liaising with the outside agencies. -Identify the staffing needs of the school. - Create and maintain a safe, orderly, positive and effective leaning environment. - Audit class absentee registers and monitor student irregularities. |

Deputy
Principal1: -Academic Affairs
& Student Support Service. The Deputy Principal for Academic Affairs and Student Support Services (SSS) is directly responsible for academic scheduling, assessment, examination and promotion and conduct of convenient student support activities. Further, the DP1 is also responsible for the following: - Communicate with parents about student progress/shortfalls in a manner that is clear, objective and timely. -Establish proper professional support system at the school level. -Coordinate all academic programmes. -Ensure the availability of curriculum materials. -Member of the monitoring team for school level monitoring and support services. - Maintenance of teacher attendance and the supervision of class 10 and 12 block. -Girls health care and SPEA. - Workout substitution for teacher absentees. - Overall supervision of the career programmes in the school. - Work with class teachers and house teachers on student discipline. - Audit class absentee registers and monitor student irregularities. |

Affairs and Care Department. -Work with parents on the progress of the pupils. -Inculcate good behaviour and self-discipline in students. -Over all in charge for co-and extra-curricular activities. -Work in close conjunction with the various committees for the conduct and organization of activities. -Work with class teachers and house teachers on student discipline. -Students leave exceeding more than three days and students requiring permission to go out of the school campus. -Supervision of Mixed block. - Member of the monitoring team for school level monitoring and support services. - Audit class absentee registers and monitor student irregularities. |
